Liandur is a family company that produces sustainable cements for the construction industry and is part of Group Roussel. Cement is responsible for 9% of global CO2 emissions. Liandur, which stands for Liants Durables or sustainable binders, wants to make its contribution in substantially reducing CO2 emissions in construction. Its mission: to develop and market Low Impact cement.

To achieve this ambitious mission, Group Roussel together with Spanish partners purchased in 2021 the cement plant with research lab in Harmignies (Mons) on a 7-hectare site. For the operational management of this laboratory, we are looking for a lab responsible.
Job Content
As lab responsible, you will be responsible for managing the team and ensuring the quality control of our cement products. You will also participate in the testing, development and certification of new low impact cements together with and under the supervision of the laboratory of Liandur's partner, Cementos la Cruz (Spain). You will also be responsible for daily consultations with the production manager.

In this role your main tasks are:

Leading but also performing laboratory activities yourself, including performing physical and chemical tests on samples of cement and other sustainable binders to be developed.

People Management: You will ensure that lab technicians have the appropriate knowledge and skills to perform their tasks. You provide feedback and guidance, and assist them in their personal development.

Reporting Results: You report results of analyses and tests to internal and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with production team to ensure cement quality.

Keep up to date with the latest analytical methods and quality sampling plans for the department.

File and consult with quality authorities CE and BENOR.
Profile

Higher scientific education (chemistry, bioengineering, pharmacy,...).

Experience in a laboratory environment.

Experience in the cement industry (iso 679;2009 and iso/tc74) is a nice plus.

An organizational ability and sense of structure.

A hands-on mentality with an eye for problem solving.

Ability to manage a small team of 3 people.

Excellent analytical skills.

You communicate fluently in French. Dutch and Spanish are a nice plus.
